We are incredibly proud to welcome GEL Studios as an official event sponsor of the #Oasis50 Fireworks Celebration, marking 50 years since the iconic Oasis Leisure Centre first opened its doors to the people of Swindon.

The Oasis is more than just a building. For generations, it has been a place of first swims, school trips, concerts, family days out and unforgettable memories. It is a much-loved institution at the heart of our town.

While the Oasis is currently closed, its legacy lives on — and on 1st January 2026, we will celebrate its 50th birthday with a fireworks display above the Oasis dome, bringing the community together to honour everything the Oasis represents.

About the #Oasis50 Event

The Oasis had an original target date to reopen in 2026. Sadly, this is now indefinitely delayed, with future plans still uncertain following the rejection of housing proposals on the site. In light of this, the 50th anniversary is a vital opportunity to celebrate the Oasis, keep it in the public consciousness, and demonstrate just how strongly the community feels about its future.

The #Oasis50 Fireworks Celebration is about:
